Meet Alyssa Gutierrez
Founder of Roots of the Heart Retreats & Sanctuary, The Ethos Institute of Energy Medicine, and Mindful Methods
Alyssa is a woman who loves community, music, good food, ancestral teachings, and honoring the sacredness of Mother Earth. Her devotion to gathering people, preserving ancestral wisdom, and sharing the sacred arts of ceremony and ritual has been a lifelong journey.
Raised in a traditional Balkan home with a deeply spiritual upbringing, Alyssa inherited the teachings of those who came before her, rooted in Feminine healing, ancestral ceremonies, and sacred rites. For nearly 30 years, she has apprenticed in these ancestral ways, carrying forward the wisdom of her Grecian heritage.
In 2012, her journey with the ancestral plant medicines of South America began to unfold. Over nearly 15 years, she has studied traditional natural doctoring methods, curanderismo, and ancestral plant medicine practices, learning alongside Masters and Elders in Mexico and Peru. Throughout this journey, she has participated in numerous traditional plant medicine dietas, deepening her relationship with herself, Mother Earth, and the spirits of the plants.
Her studies have included Master Plant dietas with sacred trees, flowers, and plant allies such as Huaira Caspi, Puka Lupuna, Rose, Chamomile, Bobinsana, Ajo Sacha, Ushusanago, Mapacho Tobacco, Cinnamon, and Sage. These experiences have become an important part of her personal spiritual path, complementing the ancestral teachings of her Grecian lineage.
With profound respect for the spirits of the plants, the wisdom of the Earth, and the traditions she has studied, Alyssa shares her teachings through community gatherings, national and international retreats, plant medicine ceremonies, and sacred rituals.
Her calling is rooted in creating spaces where people can gather, reconnect with themselves, honor the ancestral ways, and remember the wisdom that lives within them.
Meet Jorge Munay

Jorge is a lover of sound, flavor, plant medicine, and Mother Earth. His relationship with music began in early childhood through the piano and flute, awakening a lifelong devotion to the power of sound and its ability to connect the human spirit with the natural world.
In 2000, his journey deepened as he rediscovered the ancestral sounds of Peru, immersing himself in traditional instruments, sacred ceremonies, and plant spirit traditions. Guided by respected Masters and Elders, Jorge has spent decades exploring the wisdom of shamanic music, Andean medicine, and the sacred relationship between humanity, sound, and the Earth.
Rooted in the Sacred Valley of the Incas in Cusco, Peru, Jorge now shares his teachings and musical offerings through ceremonies, community gatherings, and transformative retreats both locally and internationally. His work brings together vocal activation, ceremonial sound, ancestral plant medicines, pilgrimages to sacred sites, and the living cosmology of the Andes.
Through his music, Jorge invites others into a deeper relationship with themselves, the natural world, and the wisdom of the ancestors. His songs become vibrational prayers, carrying the spirit of the mountains, the plants, and the ancient traditions that continue to live throughout the Andes.
With humility, devotion, and a deep love for Mother Earth, Jorge offers his work as a prayer for personal and collective harmony, remembrance, and the restoration of our sacred relationship with the living Earth.
